“Outstanding 4WD Training in the Flinders Ranges”
Recently, we retired and bought our first 4WD vehicle and off-road camping trailer to explore outback Australia. To give us the confidence to safely use the full capabilities of the vehicle, we decided to undertake a two-day off-road driving course during our first adventure to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. We chose Norman Bee of Pindan Tours and 4WD Training as our training provider because of his experience, previous Registered Training Organisation credentials and excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. We were delighted by the outcome. We completed a two-day Defensive and Basic 4WD Driving Course. The course comprised a full day of essential theoretical classroom training followed by a full day of practical work; importantly, in our own vehicle. To build on the two-day course and to gain appreciation for the Flinders Ranges, we engaged Norm for a further day of touring and training. This third day helped us consolidate the training as well as developing our travel plans for the following two weeks. Norm is an excellent trainer who is knowledgeable, patient and calm. He has a great ability to understand people of different knowledge, skill and confidence levels. His strong focus on driver safety added to our confidence in him. Norm’s knowledge of geography, geology and history of the Flinders Ranges is also outstanding. Pindan provides excellent value for money. We hope to join one of Pindan’s Tag Along Tours in the next couple of years.
